Failed/New with Kaiser Ins. - anyone?

Hello all, I'm new to this site and really hope someone might be able to help me.

I'm 10 years out and just found out that my stomach is full sized again.  I had the RNY, and the bypass is still intact, but the stomach is not (gained 40 pounds)  Since Kaiser outsources all bariatric patients, I'm not sure what my chance of getting a revision is.

I've been gaining weight for about 1 1/2 years now and I kept telling my doctors something was wrong because I could eat more.  Of course everyone ignored me until I insisited.  Did the test a week ago and just got the results yesterday.  Talk about devastation news.

I'm also concerned because in the past 1 1/2 years I've become incredibly depressed and on medication, I've been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, lower extruded disks.  Since I'm depressed, and did suffer from an eating disorder years ago, I'm wondering if they would bypass me as a good candidate for revision.

Oh one last question... would they leave the bypass intact while the stomach is whole?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm located in Southern California.  This is my first time dealing with Kaiser insurance and I'm nervous.  I hear they're one of the hardest one's to say yes and with my kind apparently not many surgeons want to touch it.

First thing to do is contact your PCP and ask to be referred to the Bariatric program.  I went through the Kaiser in Harbor City for my Sleeve so Kaiser DOES do in-house as well as outsource.  I personally know a couple people who were revisions and they didn't have to go through the Options program (a Kaiser program for those considering WLS).  You may or may not have to do that.

My doctor gave a referal to the options program.  I suppose they'll have to evaluate my situation.

How long should I give them to call me before I start bugging the doctor about it?

I'd ask for the phone number to the Options program and call them to make sure th ey got the referral and then to ask them can you talk to a surgeon because you've already had WLS and you would be a revision.  If they say NO I'd contact the appeal people and go from there.

Thank you for your help.  I've been crying every day since I found out about the staple line rupture.  I want to scream, I want to throw the towel in, I want to beg Kaiser, I, I, I just don't know anymore.

Thank you and sorry for the pity party, but this was always my biggest nightmare.

You know it's just HARD to battle your way through the depression...but keep your eye on the prize..a healthier and happier you.  You can do this!  Hang on =)

No need to be sorry...that's what this forum is all about!  So vent and pity but NEVER give up.
