I am going to see a Dr about my band and they may do an endoscopy.  What is involved in this procedure?  Are you sedated at all when they do this?  Is it painful?  Thanks for your help!

You are out the entire time. The procedure is about 15 minutes and you wake up in the recovery room. It is soo easy. I just had one a week ago and I was pleasantly suprised.

Hi,

You need to talk with your doctor.  I was not out all the way with mine.  Even though I felt nothing, I could observe what was going on in the video display.  I wasn't happy about it, but some doctors don't put you all the way out.  No pain though, so no need to worry about that.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

I've had it done twice and going again for one in Aug.  Nothing to it as was already said you will be out. (best durgs I ever had, asked for a "take out" of some)  No worries.

You will be given medication that will put you out so you won't feel anything. I have had this procedure and i didn't have any pain. Best to you.

I've had a total of three done and only one I was completely out.  One, I woke up in the middle of, but they just gave me a little more juice and I was out.  The last one I was awake for the entire time and very unhappy about it.  I will be having another one soon, and don't plan on being shy about asking for enough sedation that I don't feel like choking.

Just tell the doctor you're afraid and to make sure you're well sedated.

I am trying to have the Stomaphyx done.  I did lose 140lbs. and have not lost anymore I remain at 258.  For some reason I just haven't been able to go any further since 2001-2002 when I had the gastric bypass done.  Although I can't seem to get anyone to return my call from the doctor's office that I am trying to get the appt. with which is Dr. Grossbar? In Pasco County Florida.  I haven't even gotten an email reply.

Wanted to find out if you were ever able to have your stomaphyx and if so was it successful?  I had gastric stapeling 31 years ago and kept the weight off for 20 years, but now I am trying to go for the lap band.  I think that I will need the stomaphyx as well.  If you were able to have yours please let me know how it went.  Thanks.

got2wantit,

I am going in for surgery this friday and the procedure is band over bypass.  I been on a clear liquid regiment since the 13th of Sept. I understand that Dr. Grossbard is an excellent surgeon and he will be doing my surgery.  There are not that many doctors who do Band-over-Bypass.
