Is thier such a thing ??? . I had the lapband done 7 years ago and cross addicted two times ( see my page ) .Failier is a variable based upun the aplications of the tool ( wls ) to the behaviors that coencided with the weight gain and inability to manage the relaps trigers that were existing within my diet and eating behaviors .This is also relavent to others areas of my journey is what does define failier ??.
This is a tool for me to manage things i generaly have no control over i.e my eating and diet habbits like other addictions its the dicipline that is the variable between sucess and failier

expectations are premeditated resentments .standards are goals and principals that can be maintained and achieved.

Hi Chris,

Yes sometimes we carry alot of baggage into our journey and unfortunately, all doesn't go away after surgery.  It sounds like you could use some therapy to help you with changing your thinking on some issues.  Here is a good starting place,  http://www.crchealth.com/ and http://www.emindful.com/.  You can talk to folks at these sites and they may be able to direct you to resources in your area.  Good luck!

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Hi Chris,

I have had to learn to forgive myself for some of the things in my past that I consider as a failure in order for me to proceed with "recovery".  Its different for everyone, just as our journeys are different yet we all want the same goal of being healthy and to be able to manage our food addictions/choices etc.

In 2000, when I had my original surgery I really valued my tool of having surgery and would never think i would put food choices or any other choices above it.  And here 9 years later I have gained half of my weight back and have a rupture in my staple line.  I'm trying to learn to go back to those inital post op surgery days when I was making the right choices to find that power again.  But in doing that I have had to try to learn to forgive myself for the mistakes I made and not continuously blame myself or be upset.

I try to learn from everything.  I am in the process of going back to haev another Psych evaluation for revision surgery and addictive behaviors and patterns is something I really want to focus on so I do it right this time around.
