Ok, so Im only a month out!  I had the gastric bypass done a month ago and I feel like I can eat like I use to :(  Well maybe not as much but not as little as the first week when I got out of the hospital!  Im also not losing any weight right now :(  I lost 30lbs in the first 3 weeks and in the last week I havent lost any.  Im not eating unhealthy or anything Im eating TONS of protein, but I feel like Im eating way more than I should be able to!  Is this normal?  I know that our tummys eventually let us eat more as we get farther out...but only a month out!?  Have I already failed??  Please help!

Hi there!

Good for you on 30 lbs.  Question, are you in a good support group?  Has your doctor given you guidance on portions and food choices?  Support all through your journey is extremely important.  Learning about portion control, maybe using small utinsels and plates, eating slowly and chewing well, and working through the mental issues that put us in the obesity bind in the first place.  Don't give up!  I think some good solid support would help you.  This surgery is a tool not a cure and using that tool effectively is what is going to work the best.  Huuugzz.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Thank you sooooo much for replying!!  I see my doc again on the 11th so I will talk to him abou tit some more!  I didnt have this issue until just like a week ago and now its getting bad enough that im not keeping anything down after supper :(  SO I think I need to go back to measuring it in the little cup that I was using...that should help!!  But thank you so much for the encouragement!!

Try to measure your food regularily.  Some people do not get that full feeling until to late and then it can make them sick or miserable.   You may have had a little stall and that is normal.  Try to get your protein in as your Dr and or Nut requested and work on getting your water intake to their liking as well.

I log my food every day at Sparkspeople.com  It is easy and it helps me track my intake of protein and calories.
Best wishes and use your tool.  You have not failed  :-)  Baby steps
