My Rant & Rave!
Rant: I have not lost any weight since approx. 4 moths out.
The superficial me is sooo angy that I find it hard to contain my self at times!
I work out no less than 3 a week (on a bad week). Mostly, I go to the gym 4x a week. I drink my water and get my protein.
I want to be less than 200lbs. 175 is/was my personal goal!!! Which I feel I will never reach.
Rave: I am thankful that I had the RNY because now I am not required to take blood pressure medication ( which they were trying to force on me last year).
I am thankful that I have lost 57 pounds. My doctor says that I am not a failed weight lose ( could have fooled me). That losing that amount of weight is considered as a positive result. Everyone that I know that has had this surgery is below 200lbs. They lost 100lbs with approx 6months.
Why me...?
I did the 3DPT and reached 199 lbs but that did not last; I am back at the 204lbs.
I know that muscle weighs more that fatt but still ... I read about so many people who lose approx. 100lbs with this surgery.....! Which makes me ask "WHY NOT ME!"
I am thnakful that my body adapts to every situation (surgery) quickly but .... hey, what else can I do?/!
This vent was a load off of my chest!
..... urgh! For something so drastic I expected some drastic results.
I thought about a reivision but then after reading about others experience(s) thought that it was a shot in the dark. Most people don't lose much more from having their stomas smaller.
Anyway, I am going to end now before I lose my mind ( I am not losing anything else) !!!

It seems an awful lot of people do not know about the duodenal switch. I didn't know about it till after my RnY quite by accident. I found that forum, read all i could, and became an active member of the board. After two years of reading, I finally have my date to get revised to a DS. I am just trying to let others know about it just in case it is something they would consider doing. Not many DS surgeons around the world, but there are several, a handful in the US and other countries, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, India. Come visit us. We like to help those new to our forum.

I LOVE MY DS!!!!!
STRIVE TO BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE AND DO THE BEST THAT YOU CAN.
Check out www.dsfacts.com and www.duodenalswitch.com for all the accurate information on the great DS, and find surgeons in your area or around the country or out of the country.
I couldn't have done without all the great peeps on this board.
