My friend can no longer afford her presciptions due to job loss and starting to regain weight.
I do not know how to confront her about the eating binges she has been on lately. She has even changed her sleep patterns to do it all night and into the morning hours. She is a 2 year post-op U.T. Patient.

Hi,

Ummmm, she is in need of some emotional help.  Are there support group meetings you can take her to?  She needs intervention.  Her cir****tances are triggering her binging.  Unfortunately, she needs to be wiling to accept help.  Keep us posted.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Hello,

I appreciate your reply and would like some information on groups in the Houston area. As far as confronting her it could get nasty due to the fact that she is off her Prozac an her temperament has begun to turn volatile. I feel time is of the essence, but I need advice on how to go about it without driving her away. Should I try to contact her doctors?

Thanks

Perhaps your friend could make use of the Walmart discount program.  Generic prozac (fluoxetine) both in the 20mg and 40mg are available for low prices.  $4.00 for 30 capsules and $10.00 for 90 capsules.  She could afford that?
Good luck!

Yeah, but you still gotta get a doctor to write a prescription, right?  That's the expensive part...
