i don't know if I would say failed but....
About a year after surgery i was helping a friend move and I got an intestinal hernia (BE CAREFUL about that people. it really sucks). I was in pain for weeks before I figured out what was going on. Day to day I was ok, except when i ate, I felt like there was a cement block in my stomach. My intestine was twisting and no food was getting through. They only way I felt better was to throw up or wait and eventually it would go down. My surgeon went in and fixed the problem and then everything was great. I no longer was losing weight after that. I figured I plateaued. Thinking back on it. I wonder if the fact that food was sitting the pouch trying to force its way down stretched my stomach. I always felt like I plateaued earlier then I was suppose to. I'm not angry about it. I lost 130lbs. I have another 50 or so I'm trying to lose on my own now.
I really just want to know if something like this happened to anyone else?
Tips for dealing with a stretched pouch?
any other advice! im a sponge!

Hello rennyguerra,
I can't prove it, but I know I have stretched pouch. I can eat and eat and eat... Before RNY, I weighed 232 pounds, lost 90 pounds and have maintained that weight loss for over 8 years. There was a small hiccup in 2004, but overall I've managed things pretty well.
For me losing that weight and maintaining a weight lose takes a daily decision and that internal work stuff. It continue to be a journey for me.
I bet you already know that! ... Think about joining either Cathy Wilson's group - Back On Track Together or my group Beat Weight Regain with ROSE. You may find better answers and richer support.

I 'm not saying that my surgery failed. I just thought that I would at least loose 100 lbs. My pre op weight was 268 lbs. I dropped to 180 lbs within 6 months. I never lost a pound after that. I walk daily and exericse on a regular basis, take vitamins daily and B12 weekly. I do cardio several times a week. I eat sensibly and regularly take protein shakes. Within the last year I have gained 23 lbs. I just don't know how to keep it off. I really fill like a failure. I have scheduled
endoscopy sclerotherapy within the next couple of weeks. I really need help.
