The Decision is YOURS!
I want to squelch some flames imediately! The decisions you make is based on your knowledge and understanding of the surgery of choice. It would be nice if they all were 100% successful. If someone who has had success offers information about their choice, than add it to your knowledge base. The more we learn about each other, the more wisdom we gain towards the next big decision. I have NEVER told anyone they made a wrong decision!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sorry it hasn't worked out for you. These boards are here to encourage and offer support, not to flame each other. I am sorry if I have given any of you the impression I was better than you. I'm not. We are all in this journey together.
Unless I missed some posts that you made I have never gotten that impression from you. I find that you are very thoughtful with your responses and non judgmental. I think that the truth hurts and people that do not want to hear it change the meaning of what is being said and become offended instead of looking at what is really going on. I Thank You for the responses that you have made, they have helped me and in no way have I felt like you thought that you were better than me.
I would like to agree with Ms.MonaFly. I find your responses to be respectful and sensitive to others' needs. From the posts I have looked at, I have never found you to be disrespectful or to have a haughty attitude about your success. It is evident that your posts are geared toward identifying the responsibility that we all share in our own issues.
And to further agree with Ms.MonaFly, no matter how gently we may do it, no one wants to hear about the mistakes that she has made. We are all guilty of wanting to point the finger of blame at everyone but ourselves. It's simply much easier to do that than to take responsibility. And with a topic such as weight gain after bariatric surgery, people can take serious offense, because any indication you may give them that they have responsibility for their own life will be turned into a "You think you are better than I am" or "You're judging me" or some other ridiculous statement.
Keep on providing the help that you can on this messageboard. There are many of us who welcome it and appreciate your solicitude.
