I had bypass surg five ago by a Very New surgeon. I suspose Ia'm lucky to be alive, considering he did loose a couple patients the first year. NOw I find myself back to 330lbs after a lose of 109 lbs. Finding it hard to understand what is meant by tahe requirements to qualify for the revision. All the medical problems I started with 5 yrs. ago are still there due to the weight, but all the Dr's offices I have talked to , says that is not gonna get me approved for a Revision. What is meant by "Metibolic Failure, Co-Morbid resolution ? How will You know If you have any of these. The Surgeon who did the origional refuses to look by xray or any other means, rather tells me I ruined my pouch. Hope somebody here can help, Thanks.....

Sounds like my story.  New surgeon, enlarged stoma (ends up he uses a smaller stoma hole punch after me and gave me a 2 oz pouch to start with as well as a short bypass)...   You did nothing wrong.  When people overeat they vomit.  I have read that time and time again.

Please go to a Center of Excellence.  The requirements are 40 BMI and 35 BMI with a co morbidity (like diabetes etc.)

You might want to check out the revision forum for some hands on experience.

good luck, Daisy
Thank you for sharing, and caring enough to respond. I have continued to research here in Texas for a Center of Excellence. Did you have a Revision, if so which procedure, and how are you ??? I 'm trying not to feel so ashamed and sorry for myself, rather trying to gather strength from all the support I can to have another chance at the Life Changing Surgery.

Have you checked out the revision forum?  It outlines all the various possibilities for revision.

Check out duodenalswitch.com for a complete most up-to-date list of DS surgeons around your area. You are more than like goiinna have to travel as there are no DS surgeons in New Mexico. To get the DS is so worth the travel. I wish you well.
