will be interested to see....I missed it last night, just saw this today, but hopefully I can find it on my request channel, they save shows and allow to view whenever.

Best of luck!  Most friends told me that in the early stages no one mentioned to eat like you did the first month after WLS, so I am sure they do tell patients that now, but just in case, eat only puree foods and protein drinks the first 4-6 weeks, plus it will ensure the stitches and scar tissue will build and grow in to make the stoma tight.  The scar tissue acts as a restriction tool, so you want it to build up!  Sounds funky huh?

My best to you, and I will be following with great interest as I did gain 25 lbs last month, but thankfully it is not related to my eating wrong, as I wasn't, but unfortunately it may be Thyroid cancer, but at the very least, I do have Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism.

I thought I was losing my mind when I couldn't lose weight eating like I did in the early stages of RNY, the pounds came on despite constant exercise, consistently eating protein drinks, low carb and high protein.  No one believed me!!  I literally gained 10 pounds one night.  Went to bed, weighed 154, woke up and weighed 165 lbs the very next morning.  Water you think....but it didn't come off.

Now I am on Thyroid medication and in only 3 days have lost 6 lbs.  I feel so vindicated, I just thought I was going to have to go on major anti depressants, because I am sure you even felt like what the heck?  I told my husband that I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown and would vow never to see my family and friends again if I gained my weight back.

Just curious, did insurance cover any of the procedure/hospital??  I  was told most won't, but how much did you have to pay?   $10k is what I have been rumored to hear.

uh oh...I was just passing on info on the show when I saw that it was coming on.  Thought it would be good cause so many people have questions on it.  I have no idea about the costs etc, and I did miss the show lol, but like anything else, I'd guess you could google all night long.  

I'm trying to find out the cost of a stomaphyx and the best place to do research. Can you pass along any information. I haven't been on this website in a few years and have no idea where to start.
