Hi,
Sorry your results wasn't what you hoped. I think the Back On Track board is a good place to start getting well... back on track! I hope to see you there. Here is the link.

Hi ya. I had a mess also, from a gall bladder operation where they had to cut me from my breast bone to the end of my stomach, and I had to go home with a bag attached to pass the bile.
My surgeon was able to remove the scar tissue that was right along my mid section.
Then I had the little hole surgery for my WLS.
It seems to me that a good surgeon would be able to do this.
Please keep me posted, nice to meet ya.
Also, kudos on getting back on track, that rocks!
Is there any other revisions that can be done? I read someone say that a good surgeon could work around the scar tissue. Perhaps you should consult with another doctor.
I think getting back on track website would be helpful. Surgery in 1979 that was quite along time ago. How long were you able to maintain the weight loss?
Maybe you should see it as a set back rather than a failure....
Keep posting for feedback. Post in other places not just failed surgery section. Like the state you are in or the surgery type. There is help out there. There are so many people that have come back from missteps.
Keep your hopes up. Don't give up.
Hugs
Corina

OK, my opinion here. YOU didn't fail. It's important to remember that. You had a bad surgical experience, but that wasn't YOUR fault. If there is any fault in this, it's with whoever did the surgery in '79 that left you in a mess. You've taken steps to correct the problem and get your life back on track. That's not failure, in my book.
Good luck to you in your efforts, wherever they may lead you.

just to let you know I understand about disappointment. On nov.11th 2008 I went in to have laproscopic RNY surgery. When I woke up in the recovery room my surgeon was standing over me saying that he wasnt able to do the procedure because my organs were flipped/backwards, a condition called malrotation. My stomach had the cuts for the laproscopic inscision but the procedure wasnt done. I was sent home and told that I could have lap band in the future if I wanted. I was crushed and disappointed and I had never heard of malrotation before. Plus a couple of weeks later I got the bill from the hospital for over $22,000. To make a long story short. God is good and I had the lap band surgery on this past thurs. and I am doing well. What ever happens God will work it out. Have faith and believe. If He will bring you to it, He will bring you through it. I am a witness to that!
