Hi,

Try to relax.  You are not even a year out.  Some folks lose fast, some slow.  That doesn't mean your surgery has failed.  You are just beginning your journey.  Stress and worry is only going to make you feel worse.  If you were three or five years out and have only lost a few pounds them maybe you have a point.  Relax, enjoy the journey.  Don't make it a bad experience.  Everyone is different and loses at a different rate.  I used my clothes as a guide to success.  I used every smaller size as my milestone.  I only weighed when I had to.  You will be ok if you relax.  Don't overdue your workouts.  Your body needs a rest day too.  Huuugzzz

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

I agree, try to relax.  I know that's easier said than done.  I know the frustration you are going thru.  I was banded 20 months ago - and am the same weight now as I was the day I had surgery (lap-band).  I haven't lost or gained a single pound to speak of.  Once in a while I'm up or down a pound or two - but still the same weight AND my clothes fit the same too *curse*.  I have had 7 or 8 fills, and am at 3 cc's in my 4 cc band.  I have had the best restriction ever since my last fill (3 weeks ago), so my portions are greatly reduced, and I've been working out with a small group of ladies 2 days a week for an hour each time.  Needless to say, I am very disgusted with my lack of success - expecially because I feel like I have given up so much.  It's a rough road with lots of bumps.  I'm actually contemplating revising to a bypass - huge decision.  That being said, I think it's too soon for you to consider that you may be failing.  Give it more time.  I don't mean to beat a dead horse because I'm sure you've heard this a million times, but you didn't put all the weight on in just a few months - don't expect that it will come off in a few months.  Good luck to you - my thoughts are with you.

Hello,

How much protein are you taking in a day?  I know it sounds crazy, but my doctor said to take in at least 70-90 grams a day.  I know that sounds like a lot, but I bet it will get your weight loss going again.

Let me know.  Cindy

I had surgery 5 days before you.  I've lost a significant amount of weight.  I did drink my protein more than anything else.  I had the VSG.  There were days I didn't eat and just drank protein probably not the best idea but I've had some complications with my stomach healing and instestines.

You are excercising which is good.  What has your doctor said about the weight loss so far?  Is that typical?

I know you hear about being patient but it can be down right frustrating.  I know the protein bites but have you tried other protein supplements?

I don't use the powder that you add to food or to drinks.  I can't stand the taste. I've gotten use to Isopure bottled drinks which comes in a variety of flavors.  When I just can't drink anymore I fall back on my New Whey Bullet Shots that come in three flavors I believe, Grape, Fruit Punch and Orange.

I'm just as new as you are but have you considered going back to the liquid diet.  I'm not sure where on this site but there is something called testing your pouch.  It's meant for people that are way further out than you are but it couldn't hurt right?

I feel for you.  I do.  The only thing keeping me sane is that I'm losing weight.  Although I hit a plateau for the two weeks.  I stopped getting of the scale and starting looking at other things that were changing for me.  I'm using less medication.  When I get in my truck, my 4lbs poodle actually was able to hop into my lap between me and the steering wheel.  That hadn't happen in years.  I think she was even surprised because she usually just sits beside me.  Yeah I know I should have a pet car seat or something for her but she's so small.  Anyway different story for another day.

Keep up what your doing.  Revisit how much you are eating.  I was told that I should be eating 1 cup at each meal along with a snack.  Because of my situation with my stomach being inflamed.  I can get 1/4 to 1/2 cup which I think is not right but I have to go with what the stomach can handle.

As for eating late, I would try not to eat that late unless of course you have a night shift job that has you eating those meals.  The nutrtionist I have says I should not eat before bed time.

Are youg getting enough sleep? I've been told that stress and worrying can hamper the weight loss.

I don't know if I'm saying will help but I'm hear if you just want to complain.  I get it.   I really do.  Sometimes we just need to vent our little hearts out until we feel better.  People who haven't had surgery don't get it.

Wishing you the best

Big Hugs
