NEED WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT
TODAY I HAD THE RUG PULLED OUT FROM UNDER ME, 20 HOURS TILL MY SLEEVE SURG THE GAS PASSER FELT MY STRESS TEST WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR HIM, MY PCP CLEARED ME AND EVERYONE ELSE WAS OK WITH THAT BUT THE ANESTHESIOLOGIST. MY PCP SAID THEY SAW A MINIMAL "REVERSIBLE ISCHEMIA" AND I ASKED HIM IF I SHOULD BE CONCERNED AND HE SAID THAT HE WASN'T AND DIDN'T FEEL IT WOULD STOP ME FROM HAVING THE SURGERY. WELL IT DID. I AM JUST DEVASTATED. THEY COULDN'T DO A BY PASS 3 YEARS AGO BECAUSE OF MESHING AND THEN I GOT AN INFECTION FROM A HEPARIN SHOT AND THEY DECIDED THEY DIDN'T WANT TO PUT ANYTHING FOREIGN INSIDE ME. SO THE SLEEVE IS MY LAST AND ONLY HOPE. HAS ANY HAD THIS PROBLEM? WILL THEY DO SURG IF YOU HAVE A CARDIAC ISSUE? I AM SO LOSING HOPE.

Hi, Cathy. I haven't been there as far as not being able to have surgery, but my dad just got diagnosed with prostate cancer and he was considering having WLS to lose weight so he could have the prostate surgery, but was told that they would probably not approve him for WLS in time for him to have the prostate surgery, so he's in a place of discouragement too. He knows that I lost weight so quickly after my WLS that it is hard for him to think he can't do the same. I'm sorry your struggling with this. Hang in there.
