Stomach Staple

I had a staple 30+ years ago, just the staple; no bypass.  I lost a lot of weight and have spent the last 20 years packing it back on.  My questions are; is it possible to have a lap band after staple surgery and is it possible to have gastric bypass after a stomach staple.  Any information would be appreciated!  Thanks!

I know that there are wls revisions although I don't know the particulars.  Maybe you shoud locate a few wls seminars twith different specialties such as vgs, rny lapband etc. In your area I'm sure that you will find something.  good luck!

I am currently waiting on approval from my insurance for a revision. I had my stomach stapled and am now going to have a bypass. My surgeon specializes in revision so I know there are some out there that do this. For insurance to pay you have to have problems withit not just wieight gain. I have had GERD, and trouble holding down many foods, I also have gaind back all but 20 lbs. Good Luck!

I HAD TO GO A DOUBLE TAKE TO SEE IF i HAD WRITTEN YOUR MESSAGE!!!I am in the exact same spot as you.I actually finished all the pre-surgical tests ect that my surgeon requires pre-re-vision.I meet with him in a couple of weeks to discuss surgery.I also went the staple route a long time ago and actually did o****il 4 years ago and have gained all back except 20 #.

I haven't known many who have had success with that.  I am hoping you can get your revision to the RNY or something similar.  Success rate for the band doesn't fair as well unfortunately.  good luck!

you can go for lap band surgery. As in lap band surgery there is no need of cut and staple. it is effective and painless surgery.
