Please help !!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Kimberly,
I dont know much about RNY, but why not go to your surgeons office and have a talk with them about it? Dont they have a nutritionist as well? Are you sure that this isnt some kind of temporary gain? Most people will fluctuate 4-6 pounds. If you keep gaining, then you need to see your surgeon about this. If not your surgeon, then find a food behavioral therapist. I dont know why your surgery is no longer effective, but if its compliance thats the problem and not pouch size, then you need to see someone who can help you make smarter food choices. Its easy to get back to old habits. I wish you luck!!

Hi Kimberly,
I'm 4 years out and I know the struggle. It's a shame our WLS doesn't effect our brains, emotions or our relationship with food.
To address your question. You may be on a plateau and experiencing water gain, or the honeymoon period may be over. Mine ended around 9 months.
so you need to assess what you are doing food wise. I noticed your profile mentioned you are having difficulty being complient with your docs suggested guidelines.
Remeber, we have new needs after surgery. We have to break our old relationship with food and embrace it as a form of sustinance. It is something I struggle with but I fighting to learn.
so the general basics are 1) Have 60-80 grams of protein a day 2) carbs should be veggies and limited fruit. 3) drink at least 64 oz of water 4) don't drink 15 mins prior or 1/2 hour after eating.
Your surgeon may have additional guidelines. But bottom line, that's our life post op. I totally understand the struggle, and I hope you get it under control sooner than me!
Let me know how you are doing...we can get back on track together.
