Hi there Im so worried that my RNY is not working.  I am having NO problems with anything on my diet.  Nothing even hurts going down.  I havent had any of the problems or complaints that other post ops have and really feel nothing different.  I havent had hunger pains or anything but just dont feel anything. Can these surgerys fail right away?

Um..girl, I have had NO problems with anything. I have never had any pain. I have practically never dumped (only have dumped 3 times ever). I have never vomitted. I don't get things "stuck". I felt nothing different either.  Had no clue where my stomach even was for the longest time. You are not failing. You are just an exception to the rules like me. Dawn

You are still healing from major surgery - it will take time for your nerves to heal and your brain to understand its new plumbing. As you move further thru the food stages you will feel different after eating certain foods. Think of your pouch like a funnel... anything liquidy moves thru easy (slider foods) now dump a sandwich in there.. get the point? I will be 2 years out this year and rarely feel hungry.  I never had food issues, never dumped, never thrown up. Just give it time and you will see.

Hello I had surgery on 3/5/08.  The first three weeks I had no problems either.  I was starting to wonder if the surgeon opened me up but forgot to do anything once inside.  I didn't have any pains at all either, it wasn't until last week or so that I got the chest pains after eating too quickly.  I dumped for the first time on Monday.  While it was not a fun experience I was kind of grateful that I knew things were working.  Good luck.  I don't think that your surgery has failed, it just might take a little while to start really feeling the size of your stomach. I had revision from band to rny on 4-1. I have had no pain, nothing. No problems with anything eating or drinking. I wonder the same thing, ya know how can it be this easy. Well yesterday, it started i feel like i got kicked in the tummy! Just sore, after 2 weeks. I think i may be doing too much too soon. Been going 90 to nothing since surgery... I have lost 16 lbs. just sitting there, but i am happy! Just bid your time, good things will happen, i keep telling myself the same thing:) Good Luck
