NEW HEAR WITH A QUESTION ???
on 3/27/08 1:39 am
I visited my doctor back in August of 2007 and he told me I was a failed WLS - why??? Because I have gained about 40 pounds back. I had my surgery 5 years ago and did so well for the first 3 years. When I stopped going to the gym and walking is when I began to put the pounds back on. But that's not the only reason, I allowed coca cola back in my daily routine and its defnitely not helping things. I'm still happy with my weight loss - its around 90 pounds but I'm looking at myself in the mirror and seeing the old FAT me again. I had gotten down to a 16 jean and am now in a 20. My DH has been an encouragement and we have started back at the gym and he's helping me watch what I eat. I will not go back to my surgeon until I lose at least 25 pounds. I cannot eat sweets because they come right back up and I still get full fairly easy so I know that if I choose to, I can still use this tool and lose what I've gained. I'd appreciate any prayers. I know the rules but until today I chose to ignore them. DUH!!!! I hope this answers your question.
Be Blessed,

Hi DebbiDoo
I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. Yes I have gained 30 lbs but never made it to goal .
My surgery was goin great till I started having stomach troubles and then found my stoma had enlarged a lot. It takes a lot to fill me up. I really don't try to fill up as I know now that my stoma is enlarged.
I am going back to measuring my food so I know that I am getting the proper amount. My biggest down fall was trying an M&M. OMG those little boogers can cause such horible things. I am over my craving for them .
Thank god I never tried soda again. I was such a pepsi addict. Everyone would tell me oh come on just let it go flat. um no thanks. I can't even imagine how big I would be had I made that mistake. the candy was bad enough.
I am going on 4 years out. Last week I started big time back on losing the bad food and have lost 7 lbs. My biggest problem is to remember that after I eat what I put on my plate to just say I'm full Along with the enlarged stoma they found an ulcer at the top of my pouch, so I am taking carafate for that.
Good grief I am off and rambling again.
I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that you make it to where you want to be before you see your surgeon. Sounds like you have a wonderful supporter there at home, and I'm sure you will make it.
Take care and have a wonderful day and rest of the week.
