I guess I should be grateful.. but this does suck.. a year ago I weighed 275 I now weigh 184. Been stuck on a weight between 187 & 183 for 3 stinkin months... I hate this.... I guess I'm destined to be a sixteen ... I used to be a 24.. Now my body is ugly, my boobs hang down and my stomach looks god awful and I could never afford plastic surgery... I might be healthier but at 275 at least my body didn't look disgusting.....my arms, my neck, ughhhhhh...I have no idea was size bra I'm supposed to be in 'cause I am
afraid to get measured in  public...so everybody comments on my chest... I am not happy right now and It was evident recently because I almost got into trouble (alot of trouble!) because I was out casino"ing" it up alot because I was depressed. Luckily my husband intervened and threatend divorce if i didn't straighten up and fix our finances! So, I got out of the gambling and am working on cleaning up my destruction, but again I am faced with the fact that I had surgery that is not working out the way I dreamed. Others have lost 3x more weight then me. yes, I admit I am not exercising (i am not walking in frigid temps sorry charlie! ) And, I can't afford a gym 'cause I'm an idiot and have to clean up amess I created gambling. And now my 19 year old decides she is getting married this summmer and I have horrible credit, I don't make decent eough money to be able to clean up this mess and freakin help her too... I feel like  s--t! So, here I am over 6 months out & stuck at the same weight for 3.. freakin months  feeling sorry for my self & part of me wishes I hadn't had this surgery...  rae

You shouldn't be worried about getting measured for a new bra. I think we all forget that the majority of people are very kind and not typically judgmental. I forget this constantly, and I am always amazed by how wrong I am. What is more important is that you find a bra that fits, is comfortable and makes you feel sexy or beautiful, or both, whatever you desire. After you walk out of that department store with a bra that you love, you will feel like you conquered another obstacle. This could be the thing that gets you losing weight again! As far as exercise goes, since you don't want to take a walk on ice and snow (who does?), look at the things around your home for creative exercise ideas. Do you have stairs? Climb them! Look on the Internet for pilates moves that you can do in your living room or bedroom! Find something moderately heavy to perform arm strengthening exercises with! The public library where I live has exercise videos that you can check out. I'm pretty sure that cleaning burns a good amount of calories, and that is always productive. All it takes is some creativity and experimentation for you to find a "home remedy" that you enjoy. If I really don't want to use typical exercise conventions, I turn on some music and dance/wiggle around while I'm taking a shower. I feel silly, yes, but it's fun and sometimes it is healthy to laugh at yourself. Also, try talking to your doctor. They can find exactly what is keeping you from losing more weight scientifically.

Rae, you are being too hard on yourself lady.....you've lost 91 lbs, that's an amazing amount of weight loss in a SHORT period of time.  I know how hard it is to not compare yourself to others but please try....there are many factors that play into how much one loses, including how much they started with, any health issues. Ok, so just a couple of suggestions, I see you aren't exercising and that's one thing you might try to jumpstart your exercise, so it's cold don't go outside.....every thoughts about putting on some music and dancing by yourself, what about walking/jogging around the house........moving is all I'm saying anything to get your heart rate up.  Are you logging you food intake, making sure you are eating enough protein and staying away from a high-carb, high fat program?  What abou****er, are you drinking at least 64 oz of water per day? You are probably at a weight right now that your body is comfortable with, shake it up and see what happens.   So 91 lbs in 6 months but you say you haven't lost anything in 3 months, so you lost 91 lbs in 3 months, wow, that's 30 lbs per month.......nothing shabby about that. I know you are frustrated but you have lots of time to continue losing.....find that balance that jump starts your loss, believe in yourself by all means, you can't give up, work you tool to it's full potential.

I hear ya.  I'm 7 weeks out and haven't lost a pound in 3 weeks.  I've only lost 21 since surgery and i've gained a pound since my 6 week post op visit.  I do everything they tell me and i haven't lost anything.  Hopefully you'll start again.

You may feel like you looked better at 275, but I guarantee that you look better as a size 16.  I didn't want to get measured for a bra, because, frankly, my breasts have gone so far south, it's not funny.  But I went to Nordstrom's and got measured and now I'm wearing the best fitting bras I've worn since I got heavy.  Do yourself a favor and go get measured.  Believe me, the women who do that job have seen every kind of saggy boob there is. I agree with other posters who have suggested getting videos from the library.  You may also be able to buy some reasonably.  Try half.com or overstock.com.  If you live near a mall, go mall walking, just stay away from the food court.  You are still within your window of opportunity to lose more weight.  You can still get the work done.  Many people plateau for weeks or months at a time.  And as for not walking when it's cold outside -- it's going to be April soon.  It's in the 40's here in Connecticut now and I've been walking at the local reservoir.  I'm sure that it'll be warming up in Perth sometime next month.  Don't give up and stay on the boards for support.

Your post is a few weeks old- so hopefully you are doing better.  I felt compelled to respond to you because I am not sure if everyone hit the mark on your problem. Your weight loss is not the issue. I I think that you might be depressed and you should be talking to a counselor or going to a local support group.  Gambling too much, drinking too much etc after WLS is an addiction transference.  You need help and maybe medication. Take care of that FIRST and I think that everything else will fall into place.
Your weight loss of 91 pounds is great-  when have you ever lost 91 pounds before?? .  You need to go back to square one and  get back on track.  I live in MINNESOTA-  I walk my dog outside everyday.   I have a 15 degree limit....it if is under 15 degrees we do the "quick walk".  Put on your long underwear, mittens, hat. etc and get out there.  It will make you feel better.  Or walk in the mall, walk during lunch break at work, get some tapes...anything to get you moving.  I made alot of excuses in the beginning but found that if I didn't get my walks in the scale didn't move- so I got moving.   Bras?  EEEk!  I refer to my breasts as meat sacks.  I went from a 42DD to a 36C.  I have been measured at Nordstorm's (great but pricey) and also JC Penneys.  These women are professionals- just like the ones who give you a mammograms...they have seen everything. Nordstroms fits women who have had breasts removed- you've got nothing to hide. Money- can't help you there.  I don't know that I would ever support a 19 year old getting married.  My daughter (26) is getting married this fall.  I told her that I could help with XX number of dollars- anything else she wanted she would have to pay for herself.  If your daughter is old enough to get married she is old enough to have a sit down to discuss finances.  Maybe a BBQ in the backyard is the reception you can afford, maybe you do potluck, or just deserts and coffee.  Where there is a will there is a way!!

If you live near a YMCA, they have financial assistance for membership dues.  Just ask for a financial aid application at the front desk.  Really, there is no excuse not to exercise.  I pop in a dvd or a video and exercise at home and use dumbells to strength train.   Annette
