Alli FYI
I thought that since there was a question about Alli I would talk to my pharmacist about this. She told me that if you eat alot of carbs it will not do anything for you. If you eat alot of FAT that is when it will help. But you have to eat alot of fat. So don't waste your money if you are just a carb aholic.
Alli works by blocking the amount of fat your body absorbs. Not everybody experiences the side effects of anal leaking/loose stool.
With the RNY surgery you should already be sticking to a low fat diet... so basically alli really doesnt help much... we are already malabsorbing fat so as far as I know its not reccomended for WLS patients. If you can stick to eating the 15g of fat or less per meal then the alli really shouldnt be doing much more on top of that... except possibly making you sick if you are eating much more than that.

I'm always trying to lose more weight and I have a DS. Our diet is typically high protein, high fat. I tried a whole bottle of Alli. I did lose 7 lbs. OK results considering I didn't change anything else.
And no, I didn't crap my pants or have any problems with it. Nothing. Now I can imagine it might have more of an effect on people who aren't as far post-op as me.
Next time I want to lose some weight, I might take it again!
