REVISION?!?!

I wnat to hear from people out there who have had revisions due to weight gain a few years out from RNY.  I had mine in 12/04 and lost 140 lbs.  Over the last year, I have gained back about 30 of that.  I feel like a big failure and as I gain more weight I slip deeper into depression.   I am currently looking into a revision and calling around to different Dr's to see if they take my ins.  I want to know if anyone has had success with a revision..and, also, wanted to check and see if anyone has come across Dr's charging a "revision fee"?  I called one Dr.and their staff told me there would be a $1600 revision fee that couldn't be billed to insurance.

I had a revision from RNY to DS.  I lost 125 lbs within 12 months and couldn't be happier with my DS.  Never heard of a revision fee but have heard of program fees.  Some doctors don't contract with insurance because of the paltry sum they are paid.  My insurance company paid my 2 surgeons a measley 1600.00.  You can see why they charge.

Did you have the DS with the diversion (BPD) or just a duodenal switch and what's really the difference? Also, after you had your DS done, how long did it take you to lose weight? Did it start to roll off as soon as possible.
