Has anyone had a faiure with the lapband.Or a lack of support from Drs. groups that do all the wls. If so did you call and complain to the company that makes the band. Or were you able to discuss the problem with the Drs who placed the band. And did they fix the problems especially with the filling and if the band was to tight a filling. How can they tell ,I mean the person doing the filling if it's to tight or not enough. If the person having the fill cant feel anything due to their medical condition. Thank you all for the input. Either way the person doesn't lose the weight.

My band was removed because it was causing esophageal damage and I revised to DS. Sue

I had two failed attempts at placing lap-band. one failure due to an abnormality in my anatomy (no pre-test for this) . Second failed due to scar tissue from first attempt.

The way you can tell the band is too tight is if you can't get solid food down even after chewing very well. Of course the first day after a fill you will feel a little tighter. At least that is how it is for my huband. You can tell if it is not enough if there is not enough restriction, i.e. you can eat more than the amount your doctor recommends. It is best to wait a few weeks between fills to get used to the restriction. There was one time my husband was too tight and he had to go back and have some of his fill removed. Hope that helps.

Failed Lapband

My body just plain out rejected a foreign object in my body. Grew scar tissue over the port to the point that it could not be adjusted twice. I had to have it removed and insurance refused to let me have a revision to something else. Denied the appeal also even though it was not caused by anything I did.

My husband and I have been living a Low Carb Lifestyle for the last 2 years. I have lost 65 lbs and my health is better than it has been in years!!! Blood work is great and i am off many medications.

If you are having issues read The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living. It is really eye opening!
