Topic: RE: Dissertation literature review problem!
Hi
Im in the chapter phase so had to go through the lit review for my comprehensives. What you re describing is an annontated bibliography. A lit review is evidence of scholarship, it's about structuring a comprehensive overview of the dialogue that has happened and is currently happening in your field of study. What I did is read the relevant authors, took note on each of them and then made a conceptual map- cue cards with notes that I could paste on the wall and visualize the responses to points, the critiquing of perspectives, etc. Good Luck!!

I would like to know your experience with the lapband. I would like to know the pros and cons.
I know that it's a choice I have to make, I also realize every person is different. Do you know if you have the realize banding system or not?

Topic: RE: WLS Surgery & Teaching
Hi, Jenni.  I am in the preop phase and am an AIG teacher which means I am not in the "regular" classroom right now but have back to back classes all day so I think that it is about the same a far as going to the bathroom.  I am a little concerned about that.  My school (elem) and the high school are on the same campus and the principal at the high school will be going through the same surgery.  I talked with him Friday and told him that I hadn't talked with anyone at school about it yet although I'm going to try to have it done during Christmas break.  He suggested that I go ahead and talk with my principal.  My principal said he was also thinking about doing it and he would wait to see how things went with me.  You never know...

Will you have an assistant if you go back into the classroom?  It also might help to explain your situation to the principal or whoever makes up the school schedule.  When I had my daughter I explained the situation of needing to pump breast milk during the day (which was more than he wanted to know!).  He allowed me to go home during lunch (which is less than a block away - thank goodness) and spend my lunchtime as well as my class's "special" time (PE, music, art, library - one each day).  It really worked out well.  Didn't have that luxury with the first child and stopped breastfeeding at 6 months b/c of it.

Not sure that I helped but I hope things work out well for you.  I would think tech specialist would give you a little more flexibility. ???  Good luck.

Topic: RE: literature review question!
Shouldn't you be discussing this with your advisor instead of asking here? Google "how to write a literature review" and read what scholars have written on this subject. This blog might also be helpful. I highly recommend you talk to your advisor about it soon. http://www.dissertation-help.co.uk/literature_review.htm

Topic: literature review question!
I have a question about literature review. If you know the answer, please let me know. After going through various publications, how do I write about the literature I have read? I mean do I just summarize the books, articles, journals, etc that I have read? Please help.

Your question requires a long answer with a lot of details. Not only you have to understand how a literature review for dissertation is written, you need to also know the difference between a literature review and annotated bibliography. Right now I can suggest the following blog as it contains numerous posts on this subject with easy to follow details: http://dissertationmaster.blogspot.com
