I have a question about literature review. If you know the answer, please let me know. After going through various publications, how do I write about the literature I have read? I mean do I just summarize the books, articles, journals, etc that I have read? Please help.

Shouldn't you be discussing this with your advisor instead of asking here? Google "how to write a literature review" and read what scholars have written on this subject. This blog might also be helpful. I highly recommend you talk to your advisor about it soon. http://www.dissertation-help.co.uk/literature_review.htm

You should do some of each: summarizing, synthesizing, and some direct quotes (few) in order to get your message across. YOu can also strengthen your review by adding quotes from others on the topic you're presenting.
