Congratulations on the original success you had, and the future success coming your way. This board is almost exclusively people who had the Hess DS so you won't find much objectivity or encouragement on the Loop DS.
I had it done almost 5 years ago and from what I can tell it's almost identical for weight loss. In my case I lost more that expected and maintain about 10% below my original goal weight.
Your experience will depend more on the quality of your doctor and your specific biome. I eat about 3k calories and 300 grams of carbs daily but my system processes it well. I don't think the DS vs loop DS matters as much as your specific biology.
Good luck!
What "detox" pill do you take? I haven't heard of that. Thanks.
Now Probiotic, and my iron pills eliminated the gas and foul smell. Plus I take a detox pill daily along with my probiotic. I think since I need Iron, it solidify my BM...it does something but definitely take the air out the stomach

Hi everyone, June 30th will be my 9th year journey on this DS path. One of the best decision I have ever made for myself. It has allowed me to enjoy me, and LIFE a little bit better. My body lost all the weight I think it was best for my body, which was app 120lbs. But unfortunately I have gained and I wish I would have lost more in the beginning, but still look good. But in my opinion would not Have looked so good off me. But you know how we are when we look at the scale. Sometimes we would prefer the number on the scale to look less regardless if it does not look that great off us.
However, I want to know have anyone lost 10 pounds or more being 5 to 10 plus years out? If so please share how you lost the weight and how long did it take. I would love to lose 10 pounds in 30 days.
Thank you.

Thank you, the old mentality of dieting is hard to go away. My problem is I must take my Iron pills on a daily basis, and when I try to eat right I get constipated. I have to take a daily stool softener.
How can I lose and not be so constipated. Its only when i eat a bunch of sugar that makes my life easier.

Have you tried sending any of those you miss a PM? Sometimes that will draw someone out.
Also, activity on the boards seems to rise and fall for no apparent reason. It's the nature of forums and I'm guessing this format isn't as popular now that we have FB.

Hello people,
Even though I do not post often, I still visit this site regularly. Just for a long time now I have not seen the old vets including Major mom. Where is everybody?
I would at least talk to one of the experts in CA to see what the surgery would cost (I assume your insurance would pay something to a doctor out of network).
A friend of mine revised from RNY to DS and had so many complications following the surgery. She was in and out of the hospital constantly until her death. Her doctor was a quack and did not know what he was doing. Please do not become another victim.

Saw this on another site, it's a good read.
