Topic: Looking for a BPD/DS doc nearest me

I'm a vet. 20 yrs. I had BPD/DS open. I was a lightweight at the time. 5'7" and 240. I'm now at 186.

I've had issues in recent years with symptoms mimicking IBD. My son has chrohns. Been in and out of gastroenterologist offices, General surgeons and ER with many issues. Belly pain, diarrhea bloating. Supspected blockages or illeus but then nothing shows up.

I have messantariitis that has progressed rapidly too. They're watching it.

I'm at my wits end on what's wrong. I never had real follow up as my surgeon lived 2 states away and no one understood this surgery...still can't find anyone who does, especially old school bpd/DS open, at that.

So im trying to find someone well versed in this procedure to talk to about the issues I'm having. About reversal. Tests or possible diagnosis. I'm so tired of being sick constantly.

I currently live in McComb Mississippi. Willing to travel for help I just have no idea whom to see that would be sympathetic to my issues.

Iron supplements that have ferrous, such as ferrous sulfate, ferrous gluconate, etc, are very constipating. Theme iron and carbon iron are not constipation. Give one of them a try.

Yes, it is D2 50,000.00 . He is having me take one of those for four days in a row and then two every week after that.... Ive heard of others taking the two a week also.... I will try what he says, and see what the numbers are.... I am also very cautious about this... but will try his way.... after that I will just choose a D3 regimen. Thank you for chiming in...... its much appreciated...

Is it prescriotion D? All of the prescription D I have seen is in oil, and D2, not D3.

D2 must be transformed in our bodies to D3 before it can be used. Only a small percentage becomes D3. If it is in oil, we absorb even less. You are likely getting very little benefit from prescription D2. You can get dry D3 inexpensively on Amazon and other places, and it will boost your numbers much better.

Thank you for taking the time to list all your vits. Its always interesting to see what others like myself have to take or do to keep themselves healthy....... A LOT! is always the answer....... I can never say that I didnt know what I was getting myself into.... I researched daily and nightly for almost eight months..... before having the surgery. It is so true that I traded one problem in for another...... Ive been thinking about that phrase a lot lately....

Topic: RE: Gastro questions/B12 elevated/fatty liver/Calcium constipation

Normally I'm a naysayer too, but these results were in fact pretty right on. And it makes sense that I'm not able to absorb the B vitamins so there just sitting in my blood. It makes me wonder if the people who have elevated B12 on this board all have the very common gene polymorphism MTHFR mutation? Time will tell for sure once I start supplementing with what they suggest, if it makes my symptoms go away. But I'm not throwing the baby out with the bath water on Spectra Cell yet.

Do some research on Spectra Cell and their kind and you find pseudo science at best. A lot of people are paying a lot of money for this right now and I don't think it is even close to legitimate.
