Well it's official! I got a call tonight that my surgery is approved. My emotions are everywhere. I think I've heard enough on my blog to create a book. I have considered the suggestions And ideas from all of you. I appreciate the honesty and the concern.

I don't expect any of this to be easy, so I will continue to search out support. My surgery date is it until June 30, to allow me time to heal Without missing much work.

I realize that it's no better time to start them now on focusing to improve my health. Being that exercise is my nemesis....This will be my first challenge. If I just focus on Small increments to build up my stamina, my progress well increase. One step at a time!

Please keep us posted on your progress. I also had the gastric bypass and now 11 yrs later weigh more than before. I moved right after the bypass across the country so i had no follow up or support.I hope you are well my friend.

Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone. I plan to be intentional this time around. I really Believe that it will take the support of others to keep me going in addition to making myself exercise. That's probably one of my biggest downfalls. Asking for help and exercising?

I suppose we could encourage each other to stay on track. Thank you for reaching out!

I am fortunate enough to have Dr. Higa. However no matter the experience I know there is a risk. I feel safe and comfortable with Dr Higa.

Very Blessed Indeed,my surgeon retired a few years after my surgery-because of a health issue of his own.

You are not alone! Last year was a tough year for many of us gaining weight during this pandemic. Good luck on your new journey if you decide to have the revision.

I just saw your post...I don't frequent the boards as oftn as i used to.. I had Obesity surgery- in 1996. was an open abdominal then...i had 10 procedures befoe th surgery was finished , whi*****luded a RNY, pouching, small and large intestine resection... had appendix and gall bladder out( was bad), + other problems repaired/removed. hernia's, cysts and fibroids. I know how hard it is to get to a place where one stops and just holds for a good while..Luckily i was closer to goal than you are..Stress that was beyond control added to my weight and i got back close to 200 at the time of my mom's death.(I had been giving skilled nursing care for 19 months to her + Dad's custodial care , and supportive care for Hubs who also has a chronic nerve issue)....after her passing i lost 20 lbs without any dietary changes.

,Meinwhile... what are you doing with diet? where is your proteins and carb amounts?

my rx''d amount was minimum of 90 grams.w/ carbs below 50. this time...I have been between 165-180 for more than 9 months.. working to go back to the low end of that scale.(currently 177, i have not had excess skin removal.).

when i stall, or regain a few lbs..i get a handle on it with this trick... i increase protein to 100-110 grams and cut carbs to close to 20-30 as i tolerate...I also increase my B complex sublingual vitamin for 3 days to help with cravings.

Thank you for your advice in regards to increasing protein and B 12. I know for a fact that the B12 had a major influence on the weakness of me joints and exhaustion. That's the reason that I started doing injections once a month but I have been supplementing with sublingual's. As far as what am I eating obviously not enough protein and I know that when I increase my protein I have more energy. Getting back into the mode of not having any major carbs... has helped me to become mindful of what I intake. Do I believe it some of this is my fault absolutely! But I don't regret one bit of having the gastric bypass now waiting for the DS. I will keep you in the loop and try to continue blogging on here.

I use multi-collagen capsules- 5 sources of collagen for joints, ligaments. I tore a ligament n my shoulder attachment, injury from a couple years ago. That and Moringa capsules have helped more than anything...with the aches and pains of aging, sore muscles, lyme...etc.

. as you begin adding exercise. start slowly.

.begin with 15 minute walk first thing out of bed,..if you need to do laps around the house so be it.

..Noon another 15 minute walk..to get circulation going..

then at bedtime.. try isometrics. takes 10-15 minutes. to do entire body. begin by tightening muscles in feet and ankles slowly and holding them for a slow count of 5, release slowly -repeat 3-4, repeat with each set of muscles-working up the body... lower legs, upper leg, abdomen , chest wall and back, arms shoulders, last head and neck.. should be sleepy after.. you have added 45 minutes exercise to your day.!..

another thing i do is park further out in parking lot, or make an extra lap around a store if shopping. after surgery watch your fruit..most fruits and artificial sweeteners make me hungry. have along list of things i don't tolerate./can't digest.but because of surgery i am much healthier than my twin brother. take no prescription meds. blood pressure low normal heartrate low normal , last cholesterol checks were low normal. my blood sugar still drops- so have had to add a few carbs back in.i take bitter melon for sugar control on intermittent schedule.i have had to add a MVI with increased copper and sea kelp for iodine.- these help with vascular integrity and heartrate.( mine dropped to 35 for a few days- iodine, and magnesium brought up. i use zinc losenge to keep hair intact.
