Hello everyone,

My name is Sandra and I had ds in 2007 with Dr. L in Michigan. I was an avid OHer years ago but slowly lost contact with my fellow ds sisters and brothers. I live in Ontario, Canada and was wondering how everyone else is doing this far out?

Thanks,

Sandra originally from Belleville Ontario.

Welcome back Sandra. I had my DS in 2003 and have been doing fine. I deal with calcium deficiency (I have osteoporosis) and occasional iron deficiency anemia (controlled with infusions), but otherwise I'm healthy (according to my doctors), I've maintained my weight loss, and enjoy each day as it comes.

I had mine in 2007. Same few issues. Totally worth it.

2014 and doing very well. I do have osteopenea, but this is not unusual for a woman my age. I am taking meds for that and hope to see an improvement next year when I retest.

How are YOU doing?

Hi! I'm only at my one year anniversary with the DS, but I struggle with low Vitamin A. The DS is quite the miracle, in my opinion.

Hi Sandra!

I'm ten years out, and calcium seems to be the bugaboo for me this far out. I usually pull myself back on track with the vites - liquid calcium works wonders- and maintain my weight between 135 and 145 still within chart weight for me.

My doctor really wants me to hang on to a little extra, as I have had sudden drops in the past, so it's within range for me.
