Heartburn

I had duodenal switch October 26, 2012 and for a month now I've had horrible heartburn which causes me to throw up.

has anyone else had this???

yes, I have, and it can be a side effect of the VSG.

Have you had heartburn the entire 6+ years since your DS or just in the last month like you said? Suggest contacting a doctor to see if it is in fact related to the VSG or something else.

No I've only been experiencing heartburn for about a month. I love my surgery and would do it again.

Thanks for clarifying. Most of us have had heartburn since the beginning (the sleeve is known for it) but if it's a new symptom and not caused by something you're eating (have you changed your eating habits), there could be something specific causing it. So if you only recently started experiencing heartburn I would check with a doctor.

Did you start eating something different? I get heartburn when I take Vitamin C supplements. I took me a few weeks to recognize it was an issue.

I had ds and heartburns really bad.went and had test done found out I had hernia no need for surgery but coffee kick started it everyday.
