Hi I'm week out from DS. So far so good. I really want these stomach drain out. Hopefully tomorrow. How did others get through puréed stage? That just is a nasty thought. Thanks for any help.

Unjury use to have an unflavored protein powder. I was eating regular food when I went home. Granted it was only a few bites at a time. Do a search on Ricotta Fluff from Val. Healthly, protein and soft.

You really don't want to eat potatoes.

This stage shouldn't last too long. You really do not have to worry about protein right now, just make sure you are getting in your water! If you can get in some protein through shakes that will be enough.

I used the protein vials (they aren't a great source of protein because they use collagen protein but they were about all I could get in the first few weeks: http://www.nutrahealthsupply.com/new-whey-liquid-protein?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIluLZ2YrF2gIViDaBCh1S_AxWEAQYASABEgI-B_D_BwE)

I did eat a bit of jello and a bit of meat tossed in a blender. But mostly I just concentrated on getting in enough water, and sipping the protein shot.

Thanks for advise. I can't believe how exhausted I am a week and a half out. But onward I guess. No choice now. Thanks again for info.

Congrats! Agreed that mashed potatoes aren't the best option right now. At this stage don't worry so much about protein. It's all about staying hydrated. Keep sipping. If you want a bite or two of food, try soft scrambled eggs or a high-protein yogurt (like siggi's). This stage shouldn't last too long. The ricotta fluff is a good option as well. It's all about experimenting. If you try something and it doesn't agree with you, wait a while (a week or two) and then try it again.

I'm not opposed to mashed potatoes but not the best choice. Sometimes you need to see what works.

I didn't find the pureed stage that bad. Some meat, some broth and it was mostly just something
to eat. :)

Soft foods I would say try Wendy's Chili.

Congrats, I hope the drains are out soon. One of mine leaked out the incision
just a pain to keep ahead of. Taking out the tube didn't hurt but it was the strangest
sensation, Hindsight say it might be better not to watch.... :)

Hi!

I use(d) unflavored GENPRO. It doesn't have a funky smell or taste.

Regardless of what you use, read the label to see how to use with cold or hot drinks and foods.

Ronnie

BTW.......Your tastes change after surgery. Your likes and dislikes might return (or not). Therefore, do NOT stock up on anything.
