Anyone Taking Prolia for Osteoporousis
Nope I did two Reclast infusions a year apart. When I finally had a density scan following the second infusion, there were no changes at all - not better but not worse. The doctor wasn't happy but I saw it as "well at least it didn't get worse".
Will follow this thread to see if anyone responds to your request for info.

I had a Reclast infusion and suffered horrible side effects. Forward 2 years later, a new Rhuematolgist who understand our DS, and Prolia.
first results showed a small but measurable difference. I've had 2 Prolia Injections with no complications or side effects.

I have been on Forteo for 13 months ( daily injection). I believe it is the only bone drug that will actually grow more bone. Two years is the maximum length of treatment then you switch to an injectible like prolia to maintain.
It's very expensive, even with good drug coverage, however, its a powerful weapon in treating bone diseases.
Good luck.
I have had one Prolia injection, in November. No side effects to report. I get the second one in April.

Good Morning Julie,
I had surgery in 2004 and one of the tests they said here on the boards to take for a baseline before surgery was the dexa scan. Boy was I glad I did. I lost 17% of my bone mass the first year. I was shocked... My PCP had me try different pills but nothing was having any effect. I started the Prolia shots every 6 months and it stopped the loss and I have even had some improvement.
Big caution: Check with your insurance. The shots are insanely expensive and your portion after insurance may be a lot. I found a supplemental plan and that helped me ...
Good Luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.
