Is this normal?

After December 2016 when CC was increased to 220cm - Metabolic Test showed:

WHAT YOU BURN

Resting Energy: 1584

HOW MUCH TO EAT

Weight Loss Zone 1,268 to 1,584

Fast (+14%)

Now that I've had surgery on July 27 2017 shortening my CC to 120cm - TODAY - Metabolic Test showed:

WHAT YOU BURN

Resting Energy Rate: 1368

HOW MUCH TO EAT

Weight Loss Zone 1,096 to 1,368

Normal (-2%)

Dr E and Alex told me to eat between 650 - 800 cal

High Protein, LOW FAT, LOW CARB

Daily Protein must be 150g

Can you explain this to me. I know I can be a little slow, sometimes stubborn and easily confused. ?

You're going backwards. Holy crap! How do they suggest you have 150 grams of protein and less than 800 calories? Water-based weigh protein isolate shakes 5 times a day?

That's what I said. However they both made it clear that I had to reduce the amount of liquid protein and

replace it with solids.

I work at it each day. My quality of life is in the toilet. I'm so confused and unsure of what to do next.

I saw the gastroenterologist yesterday and she started me on Trulance(a new drug). She was sort of confused by my progress too. I saw her back in March and I weighed the same thing I weigh now, after surgery. She was perplexed too.

QUICK QUESTION:

(1)Do you remember what you metabolism rate was early out or recently?

(2)Do you know what's considered normal?

No, I'm sorry, I don't. They didn't even run a metabolism test prior to surgery or immediately post.

I don't get this new push of theirs to stay away from protein shakes, the real dietitian didn't have a problem with it. I think this is purely an urban legend that you need to eat dense protein and stay away from the protein shakes. I sure made it work for years; they couldn't argue with my success.

Do you think it will impact the constipation?

I feel more in control when I can have a morning and evening shake. It puts me almost at 100 and the pressure is off for the rest of the day.

Your comments are reassuring. I'm going to regroup and try again after my colonoscopy on Monday.

I think eating dense protein and low fat will increase the constipation problem.
