I ate and drank protein feom the beginning. I just preferred drinking to eating because it was easier. I don't really remember how many calories I ate while losing. In fact I didn't even track I only tracked grams of protein. I've been eating about 3000-3500 calories per day since I've been in maintenance. I exercise heavily however.
