Update on everything

So I went through some tough times the last six months which put a wrench into me getting the prerequisites done. Now I am full steam ahead with a goal of September or October to get the Duodenal switch. I am now in counseling and on medication so I strongly believe that I will finally get to my goal. I am still a bit fearful of the surgery even though I been through it before. Is the recovery similar to the gastric sleeve or is it worse?

I wouldn't say worse just different. I had the DS as a solo surgery so I can't compare having just the sleeve. The switch part is what the DS is all about. It's really more learning how to eat - what agrees with you, focusing on protein, avoiding carbs, learning about vitamins and how important they are, and learning how your new system works.
