Hi-

Today is my first day at home since surgery and I'm feeling a lot of heartburn since I've been home. Only diet difference has been trying protein shakes. Did anyone experience this and/or have any advice for helping the heartburn?

I've had heartburn more since surgery. My daily routine is to take 1 Prilosec (20mg Omerazole) in the mid morning and I take a Zantac 150 at bed time. This is usually enough but if I wak up during the night, I'll swig some antacid chalky stuff. I can deal with it but I always have an antacid on me.

Heartburn while healing is normal, to the point that my surgeon prescribed Nexium for six months post op. If your doc didn't provide any of this for you, give them a call, or try Prilosec OTC for some immediate relief.
