Have you figured out the secrets to fixing the shirataki noodles? I've heard you have to rinse them to death after you cook and drain them.

The brand I use is in my opinion better than some others. We use the House Foods tofu shirataki noodles, I get them in the organic refrigerated section of Fred Meyer for $1.50 a bag (2 servings). We open the bag and rinse them well, then throw them in boiling water for 3 minutes. After we just drain, no rinse this time. There is a slight odor before cooking but it disappears. We love them but I can't eat more than 3 oz as they do tend to expand (which is just under half the bag). We've tried the miracle noodle brand which doesn't need to be refrigerated (no tofu) and they aren't as good and they smell more. We eat these at least once a week now, we both love them :)
