SIPS/SADI questions
This is an old topic but i'm a bit confused on the SADI thing myself. There is the SIPS that is gaining popularity now as an alternative to the traditional DS because it is less malabsorptive and nutrients are absorbed better. It is a single anastomaosis surgery as I think both are. I woke up to surprise we did the SIPS not the DS and now i'm looking up info on the SIPS which I didn't do much of when researching before surgery. I and the surgeon did have a sit down in the hospital while I told him how disappointed I was but after at least 30 minutes I felt better about it but told him I might have to hunt him down later on down the road if this didn't work. Would of been different if we had discussed it prior but even in surgery waiting I asked for the details on the DS to know that I was getting the DS. "Technically" I did but not the version I was looking for. I am feeling better about it and reading sweetmel7's comment on her success I feel more confidant.
I had revision from vsg to sips on Dec 20th and feeling great, just working on getting in my fluids and what protein I can right now with no issues other than the incision as it was open not laproscopic.
