Are BPDS and DS the same surgery?

I'm trying to understand if these are the same thing? I had a BPDS in 2004, reversed in 2007. Now I'm trying to get thd DS by either Dr K or Dr Rabkin. I 'think' they are the same thing, just time has gone by and the name has been shortened.

(I struggle with acronyms sometimes: BPDS is biliopacreatic duodenal switch, and DS is duodenal switch).

Same thing, just shortened over time and makes it easier as an acronym. So, your revision will be to tighten the sleeve portion and redo the intestine to give you a common channel around 100cm?

Probably the same thing. I just wonder if you had a VSG on your stomach as part of the BPDS? I think, although I'm not sure that it might be one of the things to differentiate the older BPDS from the current DS. I could easily be wrong on this.
