Crushed Meds - Phase 1, Phase 2 diet - need tips/tricks

Right - the stomach element of the surgery was performed 4 years ago. This was the second stage - the intestinal re-routing. I will contact them again about the meds, but so far the only variation they have made to the DS post-op protocol (and this was just in response to my issue with liquid protein options} was to allow me to use protein shakes during the phase 1 post-op diet...

Unless they tightened your stomach while they were doing the switch I think you are safe to just take the pills. It seems like the staff just don't feel qualified to know if you should be ab exception to the some of the general guidelines.

I'd be surprised if your instructions are any different than RNY, let alone a DS stage 2 vs. virgin DS.  I never crushed or even cut anything.  I was swallowing horsep-pill sized vitamins the day I came home from the hospital.
