Is Whey better than others? What is the best?

Whey protein isolate is the best as long as you are not allergic to it.

What Herman said, whey protein isolate.  My go-to is the Syntrax Nectars.

The whey protein isolate is better because it is more bio available than the other forms (blends). It is also less likely to be a problem if you are lactose intolerant because it has less lactose than the blends.

My go to is Optimum Nutrition 100% whey and the occasional sytrax nectar.

I use Optimum Egg White Protein as I can't tolerate Whey.

Before you buy Whey, take a look at HunaPro. It's absorbed at close to 100%, and only requires a thumbnail size scoop for 25 grams. The only downside is it's slightly more expensive then whey.

HumaPro, not Huna

Depends upon what you mean by "best".   Whey isolate is the fastest and easiest to digest, but that isn't the only measure.

My body does better with beef isolate protein powder.  (Muscle Meds)  I can also handle casein protein powder.  Too much whey of any type and I get sick.   Beef isolate also digest pretty quickly.  Casein digests very slowly, which is perfect right before bed.

Not counting the months after surgery, I think variety is probably the best thing for a body.  Let it have access to a wide array of molecules from which it can choose its building blocks.   This would mean that a mix of soy, collegian, rice, beef, whey and casein all in different blends would be the best.  An  incomplete protein is only incomplete in isolation.

Also, carbs, price and taste are important factors.  The fact that we are going to be drinking lots of this for a long time means it is better not to burn out on any one flavor or type.   My niece dragged me into a chocolate store the other month and I wasn't even tempted.  I have had too much bad chocolate flavored protein shakes to want anything to do the stuff now.  I hope I will come around again in time, but reality is...
