Gallbladder is out! but oh the pain
I had my gallbladder removed on Tuesday. The pain from this has been horrible. Mainly gas pain. I still cant take a deep breath and sometimes the pain is so unbearable I cry. I am taking oxy and percocet, as often as they will let me (4 hrs), zofran and a patch for nausea. I walked quite a bit yesterday as well. Oh and the nausea is making it so I can barely eat. The pain is different than the DS pain. I described my DS pain as haveing my insides rubbed against a cheese grater.
I just want to eat bacon again. Dr told me I need to up my calories as soon as I can.
Does anyone have some additional advice on what I should do?
Thank you

I remember that built up gas pain after another surgery post-DS, it was worse than the DS recovery. I recovered quicker but definitely remember the gas pain or whatever it was. It finally settled in my shoulder and dissipated.
Feel better and heal fast.

I had mine removed at the same time with my DS surgery, so I didn't know anything different....but I can remember the severe shoulder pain...it was the worst! Keep walking, take gas-x, and use your incentive spirometer. hope you get feeling better soon!

Thjngs have definitely gotten better. The morning after this post I started walking often and it was like a valve went off and I began to decompress so to speak. Ive been watching the scalenand as of this morning im down about 6 pounds from the amount I gained. I tried eating some real food today but it made me nauseous so I just had shakes. Oh well, ill keep trying.
Thank you everyone :)
