I like my PCP but he is also right next door to my surgeon. Part of the reason they advised me to head to the ER was because I am traveling across the country (WA to WA) next week so we wanted to see if it was an emergency. Also, My Surgeons office and I have been tracking this issue for a bit now. :)

Thought I would give you all an update. After being in the ER on Wednesday from 11-5 it was pretty evident (to me and my surgeon) that it was my gallbladder, mainly based on the ultrasound. I wasn't shocked considering I told them when I was admitted that we needed to look at my gallbladder because that was the problem! Basically it boiled down to having too much "sludge" in my gallbladder which was causing a lot of problems. My ducts aren't blocked entirely so it is a surgery we can schedule. I followed up with my surgeons office yesterday and I have my gallbladder removal on the 28th, with the surgeon who performed my DS. So there's that. I am on a clear liquid diet until then. Need to try and get as much surgery in as I can, but try to stick to clear proteins (which are hard to find) and they are aware that I will become malnourished.

I would eat seafood and very lean meat. Fatty meats are problems. You don't need to become malnourished, you need all your proteins in so your body can heal. Good luck!

Thanks Shawn. I was able to get 68 grams in yesterday, my normal is 90+. Ive tried lean protein and they cause pain, even my shake with 3g fat causes pain. I am still able to get all my vitamins in, and if I can get 60-70 grams protein that should be good. How long was your recovery?

Well I'm still recovering because I got an infection in one of my incisions. But they gave me 6 weeks off because I'm a nurse and have to do heavy lifting. Otherwise 2-3 weeks would be fine.

I got an infection in one of my incisions after my DS, then I got C-Diff. Hoping that doesnt happen this time around!

Hi, I just had my surgery 3 weeks ago and I'm having the EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS, right down to the light stool after constipation. I also have my gallbladder but my issue is that I'm only 3 weeks post op. Is that enough time for the sludge to build? Also, I was wondering if you also had lower back pain along with your other symptoms as I do?

Thanks!
