Newbee
My name is Susan and I have been lurking around OH for awhile now. My journey started last May when I went to a seminar. The next day I started filling out my paperwork, and had it mailed in by the next Saturday. I started scheduling my appointments as fast as I could. And after jumping through all the hoops I have been approved (and received my approval letter). I go see the Dr. Monday for my pre-op appointment and then over to the hospital for my pre-op appointment there too. I am scheduled for April 2nd. It's so wicked awesome and I can't wait but I am a big ball of jitters too. I have been on OH and DSfacts researching and reading everthing I can find. I feel prepared and happy and looking forward to being on the losers bench. I guess I should stop rambling for now.
Hi there! Welcome aboard.

Welcome!
Congrats on your approval letter!
The next few days are going to fly by and go so slow all at the same time. If you haven't started your liquid diet you will soon and you'll hate it but come to peace with it. You'll be in so much pain but feel so good. It's a crazy ride. Welcome aboard

Congrats on a great decision and on already having your authorization for your DS!
The DS has the best statistics of any bariatric surgery for percentage excess weight loss, for maintaining that weight loss (so very important!) and for resolution of almost all comorbidites. Your date is almost here. Recovery is no fun but once you get past that the benefits begin.
