8 months post ds needs guidance

Sigh. . I once again am reaching out for help. I am 8 months post ds revision from rny. Have lost 96lbs. But my food continues to be an issue for me. I had been keeping my macros at 5/65/30 which at 1300 calories ia around 15g carbs 90grans of protein and 90grams of fat... i got sick and it seems like my problems were related to the bacteria in my stomach. My fiber intake had been less than 5 grams a day. It was recommended i increase to 20grams.. that alone is 6% of my calories.. so i cannot keep my carbs at 5%. I am currently at 10/65/25 dropping my protein below the recommended 90grams.. but i find myself eating 90grams anyway and yet being hungry. Around 90fat 90 protein and less than 30carbs. But sitting here hungry and already had ti cut 1 snack out.
I am not sure what to do. Losing slowly at this point (1 or 2lbs a week).. my fear is maintenance.. i am currently hungry eating this plan and don't see how i can continue this or even less for the rest of my life.
I cheat a lot as it is cause i am soo hungry.. but im barely losing at 8 months and feel really scared of gaining it all back again. ..
Please anyone help

How much protein you get is non optional. You need to get 100 minimal to keep from having serious malnutrition. Keep your carbs where you feel comfortable. 20-50 is the usual range. Keep your fat high otherwise the calcium and iron you are taking will bind you up. Drink 100oz of water or more and that will help prevent constipation as well.
There are tons of facebook groups for the DS and for low carb high fat diets with recipes and all sorts of important stuff shared. I encourage you to join and read those groups daily for support and ideas.
Hope this helps. I am really not trying to give advise but sharing what worked for me and what I've learned works for other folks.good luck!

Oh lawd! Stop with the macros! You need AT LEAST 100 grams of protein, many need nearly 200. You NEED fat. If you're following some macro that says you get 65% fat, have you figured out how much of that you are actually absorbing! Just to be 'low fat' my societal standards, you would have to get 150 grams of fat - that's a bare minimum to keep your organs healthy. You are STARVING yourself, and SLOWING your weightloss! EAT! 100-150 grams of protein, 200 grams of fat (my opinion), and net carbs less than 50 (again my opinion). Many people eat near 3000 calories - stop DIETING!

Why on earth are you not eating more? You are STARVING YOURSELF. Stop listening to whomever is feeding you the macro crap. Eat high fat protein. Cheese, eggs, greek yogurt, bacon, drown your food in butter. Knock off the flour. Drink some protein shakes. And go join bariatricfacts.com. There are also several Facebook DS forums. Talk to a variety of DS veterans. And stop the macro BS.

I too struggle with it Cheryl - I'm 8 months out as well. AND like you, I was also told to up my fiber because I was only getting 5g on a good day. I was getting about 30-40 total carbs a day. My Dr reminded me that fiber isn't absorbed so it isn't and shouldn't be included in carb counts. I added 5 tsp of benefiber, its giving me horrible gas, but it's sure cleared up my painful painful poo. I met with my ARNP today and she recommended a few alternatives and suggestions to help with the gas.
I'm not hungry usually ever though, I just know that I have to snack and thats what I do. Sometimes I "feel" hungry even though i'm not, but I usually need to eat anyway.
I track everything in MFP but really its just so I can make sure I get enough protein and I keep my carbs low. I notice significant drops in weight loss if I eat too many carbs. I don't really care is I get 1,000 calories one day and 1,700 the next.

Cheryl...I know you've been told this over and over...here and elsewhere...I just don't know what it's going to take for it to sink into your head.
STOP WORRYING ABOUT CALORIES.
Macros are not the problem....basing the macros off of a particular number of calories is. You decide how many grams of protein you're aiming for, how many grams of fat, and how many grams of carbs and you need to not care how many calories that comes out to be. You're doing it backwards.
I'm only 3.5 months out from my VSG to DS conversion with partial resleeve so for right now I'm aiming for 100 protein, 100 fat, and less than 30 in carbs. I don't know and don't care how many calories that is....even though it's there and I see it in MFP....I don't pay attention to it therefore couldn't even tell you what it is.
But for you at 8 months out, you might try upping those numbers...maybe 120 protein, 120-150 fat (remember you're only absorbing approx 20% of that), and keep the carbs wherever you're comfortable and can still lose...for me that's under 30g...for you it may be 50g. I would gain at that.
Also, I don't think adding carbs in the way of fiber is going to help with the bugs in your gut. Take a probiotic to keep your gut happy and balanced.
You really need to stop torturing yourself and fighting the science of the malabsorption. You don't have a RNY anymore...if you're hungry...EAT...but eat protein and fat.

Yah i have and it is just hard fir me. So fiber isn't going to help prevent it? I started taking a probiotic this week but i feel like the problem is starting again. I went through 2 months of hell and do not want to do it again. I will go into mfp and see what happens when i do as you suggest. . I don't belive you can do they in mgp though cause it does its calculations i 5% incriments.. but i will try
