Im sorry i probably asked you this b4 but how many calories do you eat.. your plan looks like less than 1000.  I understand you apparently are choosing to have shakes rather than food. Im not sure why i care cause i am doing fine in my weight loss but feel like i eat too much (definatly compared to you).. i guess i fear for maintenance i will have to eat less or gain and i dont want to do either

Read those snacks many days as grazing not planned snacks. I choose shakes over food to try to keep my restriction as tight as possible. My surgeon makes the sleeve a little larger than the typical tiny sleeves these days. I have no idea what my typical calorie count is but my goals are protein 120 grams and carbs under 100 grams. Yes, you're right about maintenance, if you eat you gain after a few years. It's best to keep things under control because your body will be fighting to put weight back on.

Hmm i thought i had read they do bigger sleeves nowadays.. i know mine is 130. I fear eating to much for fear of gaining. I know i can eat 3oz meat and .5 cup carrots at one sitting at 8 months.. do you think that is too much?  I am having s much harder time than i need to because of the lack of information from professionals  and my inabilty to trust lay people. I wish i could learn to relax but the fear of regaining again is soo grrat..  if i do close to 100gram carbs i cheated.

Tks for the reply. Trying to learn

It would be much better if I didn't like the Greek yogurt... way too many carbs.  It would better if I could reduce my carbs to no more than 50 grams a day.  50 grams is the rule of thumb that most DS vets suggest. I don't trust professionals any more, I think they are clueless about being successful long term with the DS, they just aren't taught anything that is based on experience. It seems it's all theory rehashed year after year until it's become "fact".

If you have the will power to keep your meals small for the long term, you're probably better than most of us. I'm still obese on the inside even if I'm skinny on the outside.  I don't have the control and need the restriction. My surgeon uses a 60 F bougie to measure the sleeve during surgery, I hear of some surgeons using 32 or even smaller. I try to pay special attention to keeping the sleeve small by not over eating at a meal and using protein shake to help.

Yah i wish the professionals had a clue. I could feel secure in kmowing i am doing ok. Surgein just says your losing great weight keep it up. Wont listen to how lost i am. The carbs i fear as i was definatly a carb monster.. i recently upped my carbs from under 30 to under 50 so i could get in 20grams fiber since i had been getting in less than 5 and had developed a tummy problem. Flagyl fixed it but i didn't want it to come back...

Fear carbs fear calories fear everything involved in eating all because professionals dont have a clue
