what can you not eat now?

Is there anything that you can absolutely not eat since your surgery? For me it's onions. It too****il about my 3rd hospitalization to realize it. It takes a lot from the flavoring of foods, but I have no choice. When a recipe calls for onions I just leave them out. Sometimes I'll try just sprinkle of powder and I'll only get a slight stomach ache without the diarrhea. But any more than that is not smart. I'm more than 8yrs out so I've learned to deal with it.

Put me down for onions and straight (uncooked) milk.  I can use it in recipes as long as it's cooked, but straight in a glass, in ice cream or instant pudding is out of the question.  Ditto for whey protein for the same reason.

I'm almost two years out and can eat anything and not get gas, diarrhea, stomach upset or constipation.  I used to get so much gas with sugars/carbs and was lactose intolerant until eight months ago.

I am three months out and have had no negative reaction to any foods. Maybe they will develop over time?

I'm almost 2 years out and nothing like that although my diet is still pretty protein oriented. I can have problems if I overindulge in ice cream or birthday cake, etc but that isn't the same think like you are talking about.  I started out lactose intolerant but only for straight milk and powdered milk. Not a problem with cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. I think even that might be gone by now but I haven't tested it yet.

No intolerances here.  Not a one.

Mine was regular drinking milk...I could handle yogurt, cheese, heavy whipping cream, etc.

I've been on lactaid pills since a week after surgery.

NOW I can drink milk but it has to be raw milk. And yes, I am making an informed decision FOR me. I get it locally at a small, well controlled dairy farm. And I can drink a full 8 oz glass a day!

If you have a specific question for me, PM me or I will not see it, as I don't check responses on the forums and don't have anything forwarded to my email.

I'm nearly 7 years out and cannot tolerate sugar alcohols nor most artificial foods such as margarine.  Plus, I cannot drink any pop either.  Besides that, pop of any kind is not good for anybody.
