I never counted fat grams. All I ever counted was protein and fluids. For fat, I ate only full-fat items and pretty liberally, so I didn't worry about it. I can tell if I need it by the way my skin feels.

Valeria thx for your reply. However I'm referring to daily intake goals. I know protein should be 120 grams. I think fat is 70 grams? Am I right?

I have never seen anything except very individualized fat goals. many of us don't track fat that closely.
Yes, getting to about 120 on protein is right depending on your body size but it could easily be more. The only other "standard" I've seen is to get in over 64 oz of liquids a day. I do about 100 oz of liquids and shoot for 150gm of protein.

Thx Pete for your reply. Maybe I'm wrong. I read on FB that the sign of constant hemorrhoids & fissures was not getting enough fat. I've never had a hemorrhoid until about a month ago which is 9 months post-op. And I feel like I'm getting another 1 forming. So I wanted to confirm my required fat intake

A good reference page is: http://www.dsfacts.com/ds-math.php
Once I read over 100 g of fat a day, but that was immediately followed up by people that needed more and people that needed to eat less.
This is one of those areas where things can get a little wonky. The CDC recommends 20 to 35 percent of an adult's calories should come from fat. A normal person on a 2,000 calorie per day diet, needs 44 to 78 grams of fat. If we malabsorb 80% of our fat, that means at 100g of fat, we keep 20. So to get the minimum 44 g a day, we need to actually eat 220 g of fat. I haven't heard of anybody actually doing this, but perhaps there are some.
My own experience is that my body reacts dramatically differently on daily basis to many factors and there probably isn't a "Daily Safe Level" at six months for me. The same amount of fat on one day would send me running and the next day wouldn't keep my skin moist. I hope it will even out at some point. Until then, I'm erring on the side of diarrhea cuz it's less painful than constipation.
Good luck!
