Revision from lapband to DS.

Hi!  I am new here. I am a 43 years old female  5'7" and currently 260 lbs.

I had the lapband in 2005 and was successful in loosing 125 lbs in which I kept off until the birth of my son in 2010.  With time, I have gradually gained a large portion of weight back.  I have been Dx with a slipped band.  My surgeon has given me the choice of rny or DS.  I am leaning towards the DS because the statistical data documents a greater rate of keeping the weight off long term.  Has anyone been through a similar experience?  If so,  what are you pros and cons?

Thanks!

I'm not a revision but there are several in the group that wil lhopefully chime in.

Aside from just the stats I think keeping you stomach intact is a big plus for the
DS. It's essentially a VSG and a switch. I think different people can do well with
either but understand with the DS the vitamin requirement are higher than with the
bypass. At 21 months I don't see it as even an issue anymore but it seemed pretty
daunting at the beginning.

When making my decision I looked at all the weight loss attempts I went though in the past
and the stats on regain were what really pushed me to the DS.

Good luck on your decision and future weight loss.

Pete
