Please add you own recipes, directions and variations.  Cheers!

Brew a pot of your favorite coffee or chai tea
In a 20 ounce blender bottle with wire ball add 3 oz of heavy whipping cream, 3 oz of cool water, a dash of cinnamon, a packet or two of Truvia or other sweetener, and one heaping scoop of vanilla whey protein isolate powder such as Syntrax Nectar vanilla bean torte.
Cover and shake for 5 seconds to blend.
Top off the blender bottle with hot brewed coffee or chai tea.
Cover and tilt gently to mix.  (Don't shake a hot beverage vigorously--it can explode)

Always add hot liquid on top of cool protein slurry to keep it from cooking and clumping.

Thank you for this!  I can't wait to see what other recipes are added!  As a newbie I can't get enough of the great tips I am garnering from your bites posts.

Protein coffee is my next big experiment.  I miss my coffee.  But doc said I'll have to do decaf til 6 months out but I can start decaf now.

I love those little starbucks via packets (just the plain coffee not the flavored ones with sugar).  I imagine in warmer weather adding one of those to a protein shake would be very Frappuccino-esque.

I like MuscleMeds Carnivor Raging Bull, Iced Coffee (http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00J5MVGQ6?psc=1).  Instead of being an isolate based off whey protein, it is based of beef protein.  It doesn't taste like beef any more than whey tastes like cheese.  I found after surgery my body just liked the beef stuff butter, no matter the flavor.  Now though, I like both.

The nice thing about beef protein is that you don't have to worry about hot temperatures.  So my recipe is:

  • take a cup, dump in some cream, dump in a scoop of powder, add boiling water.

And that is about all I'm up for in the morning.  :-)

(Actually, I add mirilax and UpCal d and a TBS of chia seeds, but that's another show.)

I'm usually in a rush so I add one scoop of Mango flavored Humana protein to about 8 to 10 ounces of ice cold water, and take it on the run. It doesn't taste great but I'm ok with it, and it is a very small scoop with 25grams of protein. The water helps with the hydration and it feels like a key to weight loss for me.
