I'm curious about your protein coffee. I assume you have to add a big scope of protein powder to the coffee. Doesn't the powder ruin the drink and make it tough to digest?
I'm interested because I'm having a hard time getting down all the protein, but I can only take so much of the powder.
Major Mom will most likely post her protein coffee recipe shortly. As for me. I love my protein coffees. I tend to stay with the chocolate flavors. To me, it's Starbucks on steroids.
Big ole mug of coffee, creamer of your choice and protein powder. Blend well, and make sure your coffee isn't too hot or it will cook your protein powder to a nasty clump.
Everyday, 4 x a day for 5 yrs. Yum!
Here's mine:
Brew a pot of coffee as usual.
In a 20 oz shaker bottle with wire ball, blend 4 - 6 oz of 1/2 & 1/2 or Lactaid milk or soy milk, or 3 oz heavy whipping cream and 3 oz water, etc. with 1 scoop of protein powder and a dash of cinnamon. My favorite powder is Syntrax Nectar Vanilla. It's a good quality whey protein isolate and easy to digest. You would have to be fond of lattes but you can also add additional flavors with sugar free syrups.
Pour the protein slurry into a huge mega sized mug and fill the rest of the way up with hot brewed coffee. You don't have to worry about it clumping this way...add hot coffee on top of cool protein slurry, not the other way around. If you need to reheat the mug, only microwave for 20 seconds at a time to make sure you don't cook the protein.
