hello all!

i have finally crossed the 18 month gate! I'm weighing in pretty consistently around 170ish lbs. I'm pretty thin given that im 6'2".

im focusing currently on bulking up and hit the gym to lift 3-5 times a week.

thanks for the support! This message board has been invaluable! Happy new year!!!!!

congrats Jason, 6'2" 170 seems a little small, but you are only 18 months out-give it another year to stabalize. great idea to go to the gym that will have excellent benefits

You are right. I was hoping to be around 190 honestly. I think I look good, but they did put me on creon and I expected to gain some weight.

either way, according to the BMI chart I'm 22.1, so that's still considered healthy.

Way to go! I was too low also, but  bounced a bit so it all worked out. It will for you too.  Now, hit the gym!

With the DS: there is no stoma, so no stoma strictures; there are no limitations (other than volume) against drinking before, during or after meals; 80% of ingested fat is malabsorbed; 98.9% of type II diabetics are CURED of this devastating disease, with data showing stable cure over 10 years out; there is the best average weight loss and most durable (average 76% excess weight loss going out 10 years) of all of the bariatric surgeries.  That's why I had a DS!

Congratulations on your success. I'm 6'2 as well and could never imagine myself below 200 but if you feel good, that is all that matters. Pumping iron should add some bulk!

Congrats!

Out of curiosity did they anticipate that you would loose "too much"? I am curious because this is something my surgeon has been concerned with me since the beginning. At 5.5 months out i'm about 30 lbs from a "healthy" bmi, and 50 from where he thinks I will be.

Thanks!

They didn't get concerned at all until around 15 months. I was concerned about 8 months ago. The only support I really got from the messageboard was "stick with it". I have stabilized in the last 2ish months, luckily!

Congrats! I'm looking at joining the local Y myself. Sounds pretty great...
